My Favorite Game

If I had to choose a favorite game, it would be basketball. Since i was a kid, I loved watching the NCAA tournament and my favorite college teams compete. Then once i got to high school, I actually tried out for the school basketball team and made it! I was so excited and I grew to love it even more. I finally understood the underlying principles of it, what it took to be good at it, the strategies players use to be advantageous over their opponents, and how to be a true team player. It not only is physically helpful, but it helps to build character to become a man. My coaches always emphasized it was not always about winning but trying your hardest, playing hard, keeping your head up, and become a man. Also, betting on the NCAA tournament has become a fun competition where you can talk crap to your friends which i enjoy haha :) I still like to play recreational games because its fun to see how rusty my skills have gotten since the end of the high school season. I hope to continue playing at the gym and participate in fun leagues.

Reality

I think reality is something that we live in everyday. Anything that happens to us is reality, meaning what we do, what we see, what we hear, etc. Dreams can even be considered reality because they happen to us, but what happens in the dream is not reality because those events happened within the dream. People sometime call things that we see unreal only because they cannot believe that it happened though it is still a part of reality. It occurred. Others sometimes argue that our entire lives are not real, which I find quite stupid. Of course it is real because we can feel it and live it. Reality is our everyday lives and there is nothing we can do to prove it otherwise. Yes there are fantasies we hear about and certain events that are hard to believe in movies such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, but again, the movie itself is reality because we experience the movie but since what is happening in the movies is not happening to us, it is not reality. One could say the same thing about the news, but because the places they talk about actually exist, that is reality to us.

Advertisements

So, this advertisement i belive is pretty unique and very effective. At first, one would think that this would appeal to women who drink. They have an attractive woman sitting in a martini glass half-naked. Vodka also tends to be a drink that women mostly drink, therefore it is right to assume that it is directed towards them. I got the idea that the woman being able to fit into the glass was a very important part of this advertisement. Women in today's society are very conscious about their appearance. Seeing this woman who is able to fit into a martini glass maybe implies that she is tiny in size and sexy at the same time, therefore in drinking this drink, another woman will gain this appearance, or at least feel this way. The twist in this advertisement though is that it also will appeal to men. Men focus quite a bit on how a woman looks to be attracted to them. If they saw this ad and got the idea that buying this drink would give their girlfriend, or wife even, this look, then they may end up buying this drink for them. She is young, sexy, and flirty. One of the most important propaganda techniques used these days is in fact sex appeal. It is just a part of today's society and it works very well for both genders. The background colors also give the advertisement a very seductive look. The devilish, almost satan red could resemble sex and a club scene almost. Just another attraction.

About Me

Well, i guess first things first, I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. I went to A.C. Flora high school and was actively involved in basketball, chorus, and theater. Theater was also something I loved doing outside of school as well so i became involved in the various community theater around downtown Columbia and I have participated in 8 musicals over 4 years in the community and school as well. Being in the Columbia area, i grew up a Gamecock fan mostly, but i did have Clemson blood in my family and in the long run i made the right decision!! Two of my aunts graduated from Clemson and one of my cousins graduated as well and I have another cousin who is currently a junior in the Architecture program. I'm currently an Architecture major and involved in theater and glee here at Clemson as well, but I recently have thought about becoming an education major with an emphasis in history. I look forward to having a great time this semester and getting to know everybody! I think the most exciting thing I am looking forward to is football season though. I came to one game a long time ago and there hasn't been an experience like it yet. Go Tigers!
